Deirdre Cooke

Deirdre is an Occupational Therapist with 30+ years working with adults of all ages and a broad range of medical conditions including stroke and neurological problems, following orthopaedic surgery, lower limb amputation, vision impairment and conditions of ageing.

Deirdre enjoys working with clients and families and helping people work towards goals that are important to them.

Deirdre also enjoys teaching Occupational Therapy skills to students and clinicians. She has given conference presentations and workshops around Australia and in other countries including Singapore, England, Scotland, New Zealand and the USA on various aspects for stroke and neurological rehabilitation.

Renee Tay Zea

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Renee has worked as an Occupational Therapist since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2001 and specialises in adult neurological rehabilitation within the hospital, outpatients and home environments.

With a particular passion for understanding the interplay between the physical, psychological and social demands upon a person and their family.

Renee works in a trauma informed way, pacing interventions and providing choices with an understanding of the impact of persistent pain and fatigue upon neurological recovery. Renee has worked with clients individually and in groups over the years in the treatment of functional neurological disorders, return to work and life demands, equipment prescription, cognitive and physical rehabilitation.

Cassie Moore, Allied Health Assistant

Bachelor of App.Science (HMS),
Grad Cert in Public Health, Certificate III in Health (AHA)

Cassie has been working as an Allied Health Assistant in a private hospital since 2017 and has worked with the Optimise team since early 2023. She enjoys working alongside therapists to encourage and assist individuals to work towards their specific goals.

Cassie also likes working 1:1 with patients in upper limb strengthening programs, Saebo flex practice, and task specific retraining to enhance autonomy and confidence in ADLs. Working closely with the OTs, Cassie has also been trained in functional electrical stimulation and assistive technology.

Cassie has experience in group therapy classes, especially in the rehabilitation setting and and is dedicated to working with clients to overcome their deficits and to reach their full potential.
